Amazon A+ Content for KDP Authors: Tips & Tricks

Amazon relentlessly improves its Kindle Direct Publishing features. One of its newest features is Amazon A+ Content for Authors. The goal of this book marketing feature is to help self-published authors attract more buyers of their books. Amazon A+ Content can help make your books more enchanting for your readers by sharing additional information and your author’s story with them. It works great for both – fiction and nonficiton books.

What is Amazon A+ Content for Authors?

Amazon A+ Content is extra information in the form of images, comparison graphs, and texts you add to your detail page to connect with readers of your books, make your book more appealing to them, or give the audience your author’s story. In simple words, adding A+ Content to your book detail page engages your readers and gives them more reasons to buy your book.  A+ Content provides many opportunities for KDP authors to brand their books and book series, give readers additional information about their book content, characters, and make it more appealing.

Where Does A+ Content Show on Amazon?

The A+ Content you add to your Amazon Book Detail page reflects on the Publisher section. The location of this section varies from one to another. However, you may need to scroll down to view the Content because it can be below the purchase button or the book’s description.

For Which Books Can I Post Amazon A+ Content?

Amazon A+ Content for Authors is compatible with various published KDP and preordered books. This high-end Content can also be applied in various Amazon’s marketplaces that harbor, including  Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.com.mx, Amazon.com.br, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.in, Amazon.it, Amazon.nl and Amazon.com.au.

After adding your content, Amazon duplicates and sends it to other marketplaces that use the same language you used to create your A+ Content. For instance, if you created English A+ Content, Amazon will make it available in English-speaking marketplaces, including the UK, Australia, Canada, and the UK. Viewers only see the books that are in their chosen language. For instance, if your A+ Content is published in Germany but written in English, readers who visit Amazon.de with English as their chosen language will see the work.

How Can Authors Benefit from Adding Amazon A+ Content?

Amazon A+ Content allows authors to add promotional content to their Amazon detail pages to engage readers and make their books more attractive. The additional content can be images, texts, or graphs that advertise your book. Amazon does not allow you to include customer reviews, quotes, or attributions to your A+ Content. However, four quotes or endorsements from familiar, well-known public figures or publications are allowed in the A+ Content. These quotations or endorsements should have the source, and publications should contain cited tittles.

Amazon A+ content creates additional possibilities for KDP authors to advertise their work on Amazon and increase the sales of their books.

How Can I Add Content to Amazon A+ In Book’s Detail Page?

You  can create  the  Amazon A+ Content  in six stages, including;

1. Find The A+ Content Manager

On your KDP dashboard, locate the book you want to update and click the ‘Promote and Advertise’ button. Then move to the ‘A+ Content” section and choose the marketplace.

2. Provide The Required Details

On the top-right corner of the dashboard, you will see ‘Start Creating A+ content.’  If you click this button, you will be directed to the Content Details Page, requiring you to fill the Content and Language Fields.

3. Use Modules

After finding the KDP Marketing page, click the ‘Add module’ button. This will give multiple modules, allowing you to choose what matches your content.

4. Include Text and Images

When creating your A+ Content, you will need to use different modules to make the layout. Simply choose the ones you like and fill in your information – images and texts. You can easily add additional modules, re-order them, or remove the ones you don’t need anymore. Your text should be brief and to the point with keywords that attract your readers.

You can create a separate A+ content for each of your books or general content that can be used for the promotion of all books in the series. Add and combine multiple modules making them visually appealing with the help of images, attractive descriptions, and comparison charts.

In general, you need to adhere to the A+ Content Guidelines when creating your A+ Content. These terms and Conditions restrict you from creating certain types of Content that may directly or indirectly affect the community. If you violate these terms and conditions, Amazon may deny publishing your A+ Content. Carefully review the guidelines before you start creating your content to be on the safe side.

5. Introduce ASINs

When your A+ Content is finished, click the ‘Apply ASINs’ button and link it to any of your books. In case it is applicable for several books, add all the ASIN numbers that you want.

6. Submit Your A+ Content

Review the information you have filled in your Amazon detail page and submit.  When your A+ Content is published, it will appear on your Book’s detail page after up to 8 business days. If adjustments are needed, you will receive instructions on how to go about it through email.

Amazon A+ Content – The Bottom Line

Amazon A+ Content for Authors is a great way of showing major endorsements, introducing the book’s content, and highlighting other books in the series. Unfortunately, many KDP authors may not fully utilize this tool because they do not write books in series, do not have high-quality graphics to display, and lack major endorsements to exhibit. Still, it’s definitely worth trying. As you can see from the examples above, you don’t always need sophisticated graphics to make your A+ Content attractive.
